Why? If only I could give a one line answer to why I draw the creatures I draw. Certainly part of it is the enjoyment of examination, the love of detail, the wonder of discovering what I see when I really look carefully at something. But it is also about communicating what I see to the viewer, who may not have the same time or inclination. This is what syphilis looks like, a flea looks like. This is the exact method a python uses every single time it disables a rat- actually somewhat humanely- before it swallows it. This is a chick- just feathers and bones- when it is just 24 hours old. They each have character, and a singleness of expression that interests me. I am not into creepy scary- and I don't like horror. But creepy -funny, well, yes.
